Understanding the importance of food moderation and mindfulness.




Food can sometimes be intimidating, especially when trying to have healthier eating habits. I was the kind of person who would obsess over what I'd consume. I would waste a lot of time on a supermarket aisle reading the ingredients on a product. I would limit so much in the name of eating healthy. These all changed when I understood how miserable I had gotten. I found myself in a situation where I had stopped wanting to eat just because it would take so much effort just choosing what to eat.



This is when I made a decision to let things be and I started incorporating things that I had restricted myself from ever eating. This gave me back my love for food. I'm in no way insinuating that I have changed all my bad habits when it comes to food but I'm a lot better. Understanding that there are no wrong foods and that I can have everything I want just in moderation and being mindful of things I now eat has really helped. This blog generally is meant to define what healthy eating is. That food doesn't have to be our captors nor prison. Enjoying those little guilty pleasures every once in a while is okay. We just have to make sure they don't become a daily occurrence.
